Choreographer SERGIO TRUJILLO

Sergio Trujillo is an internationally recognized choreographer and the recipient of the 2015 Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreography for Memphis – The Musical and a 2016 Tony Award nominee for choreography in the Broadway Musical On Your Feet!.  In 2011, Mr. Trujillo had the honor of having four shows simultaneously running on Broadway; Tony Award winning Best Musical Memphis (Olivier Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, Drama Desk and Astaire Award nominations), Tony and Olivier Award winning Best Musical Jersey Boys (Greenroom Award, Olivier, Drama Desk, Dora, Outer Critics Circle Award nominations), The Addams Family, and Next to Normal, the recipient of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize.  Currently, Sergio is the choreographer of the Broadway productions of  Summer(Chita Rivera Award Nomination0 and A Bronx Tale(Chita Rivera Award nomination). Other Broadway choreography credits: Hands on a Hardbody (Drama Desk nomination), Leap of Faith, Guys and Dolls (Astaire Awards nomination) and All Shook Up. Mr. Trujillo directed and choreographed: Arrabal(ART-Elliott Norton Award Nomination), Gloria Estefan On Broadway (Minskoff Theatre), Flashdance (National Tour). Other Theater;  Carmen: An afro-cuban musical (Olney Theatre Helen Hayes Award nomination), Invisible Thread (Second Stage), Mambo Kings (San Francisco) and Zhivago and The Wiz (La Jolla Playhouse). International theatre credits include: Peggy Sue Got Married (West End), the revival of the Broadway musical Kiss Me Kate in Tokyo, Disney's re-imagined musical Tarzan in Europe (John Kraaijkamp Musical Award nomination) and The Public Theater’s production of Romeo & Juliet. In Canada, Sergio choreographed the revival of The Sound of Music and the critically acclaimed production of West Side Story at the Stratford Festival.   TV/Film credits include; Jersey Boys(directed by Clint Eastwood), So You Think You Can Dance (in Canada), Triple Sensation, The 14th American Comedy Awards, NBC’s Primetime Presentation at Radio City, Broadway: The American Musical for PBS.  In December 2012, Mr. Trujillo was distinguished as one of the Top 100 Colombians in the world by President Juan Manuel Santos.  Upcoming projects include: Ain’t Too Proud(National) and Cirque De Soleil’s Paramour.
